A brilliant librarian, not your doctor

Think of AI as the most brilliant librarian at the biggest library in the world. It has read almost everything, and it is always happy to help. But it predicts more than it knows.

It does not know you or your sarcoidosis unless you tell it. And it does not say I don’t know the way a person would. It gives you an answer that sounds right whether or not it is right.

You would let a librarian research your questions for the doctor. You would not let a librarian write your prescription. Confident is not the same as correct.
